Growing up, I've spent a majority of my weekends volunteering at food banks, soup kitchens, and homeless shelters. One of the things I enjoy the most at the homeless shelter is talking to the people who come there to eat. They usually tell me about their childhood and the bad/wrong choices they made along the way, which eventually led them to where they are now. However, many of them are still driven by hope, goals, and ambitions to regain control of their lives. And from these people, I have heard some of the most inspirational and emotional stories that are like a journey that I would have never expected.
