Growing up i learned to work hard from my father. He ran a business for 20 years. I grew up helping him, learning how to manage people, business and money. We rarely went on vacations or took time off except for the major holidays like christmans and new year.But then one day...my father passed away due to a heart attack. I suddenly had to run things and fill in his shoes. I did this for 10 years. We earned good money but the happiness of it had gone. My wife and I after 10 years decided to shift gears and careers. I began studying Digital Design and media arts at a local college. My wife and i slowy made a "life transition". We found things that interested us...and then persued them.We found that we were much happier and and life seemed to be more enjoyable. We often try to make one or two vacation trips a year just to get out of our normal routine. Sometime exploring whats out there can scary but what i have found is that there are more opportunities for improvement and learning. It helps us grow as a person and we come into contact with people we would have normally never met.
It will always be a little scary to step out of one's boundary, but I am glad you decided to make transitions. There is nothing constant in this world but CHANGE. Accepting change is accepting life to the fullest. I salute you for that.
