JASON GRIMM has been a professional pianist and teacher in Chicago for the past ten years. He’s had the honor of working with several youth arts and arts-therapy programs around the city, including Gallery 37, The Goodman Theatre, DePaul University and The Auditorium Theatre. He regularly teaches musical improvisation and is also a private vocal coach. In addition to playing the piano at various nightclubs, he has musically directed shows for The Second City, The Lakeshore Theatre, The Auditorium Theatre, The Bailiwick Theatre and The Annoyance Theatre. In 2002 he had the privilege of playing the piano for soldiers overseas on a U.S.O. tour. Jason has also composed music for several musicals, reviews and animated shorts.
Service Sites: Kinzie Elementary School and surrounding Community Organizations
Service Mission: Integrate music into as many other areas of study in the classrooms of Kinzie Elementary (K-8); Teach a more traditional music class in their after-school program (vocal and instrumental for 1-4); Find instruction and performance opportunities for elderly musicians in the neighborhood.
