Music is a combination of many things. It’s an escape and reality. It’s a lie and a truth. But most importantly, it’s a channel that relates my feelings to the messages and sounds made by the artists and instruments. I have hundreds of different songs in my i-pod that allow me to relate my feelings to their messages, but the one song that I listen to every day, however I’m feeling, is Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’.Each day we all deal with different moods. No matter what mood I’m faced with, Marley’s song can raise my spirits, help me calm down, inspire me, and remind me that “every little thing is gonna be alright.” This constant message, along with the steady reggae beat, soothing lyrics, and peaceful vibe make all the chaos in life feel okay and acceptable. Most everything, no matter how complicated or complex, seems to make sense while listening to this song. It’s a reminder of my strife to be calm and assertive. Even though he says, “Don’t worry ‘bout a thing,” I’m always inspired to accept and solve the problems that I encounter each day. I’m inspired to be the best person I can be.From schoolwork, to my social life, from every day tasks, to extra ‘to-do’s’, each day has different levels of stress. But when I put on my headphones, select ‘Three Little Birds’ from my playlist, and press the play button, the stress just transforms into a personal melody responsibility and ambition. I am able to connect to Bob Marley’s message and be reminded of the fact that “every little thing is gonna be alright.”
